Maintenance therapy

Treatment that is given to help a primary (original) treatment keep working. Maintenance therapy is often given to help keep cancer in remission.

Treatment or therapy that is designed to maintain patients in a stable condition and to promote either gradual healing or to prevent the relapse of a disorder or condition. Used primarily, but not exclusively, in drug therapy settings.
